Chelsea’s lacklustre display in their 2-0 defeat to Newcastle last weekend led to public anger from Jose Mourinho regarding his team’s performance, and the Portuguese coach is expected to shake things up against Schalke tonight as a result. talkSPORT take a look at two possible line-ups he could field against the Bundesliga side…

Option one – minor alterations
Jose Mourinho’s substitutions against Newcastle as well as his mixed relationship with Juan Mata could provide a hint at where the changes will fall. Willian came on for Mata against the Toon, and could take up a position on the right in order to maintain Eden Hazard’s slot on the left. Oscar wasn’t exactly spectacular against Newcastle either, but is one of Mourinho’s favourites, so is perhaps more likely to keep his spot than Mata. Up front, Samuel Eto’o could be given a chance over Fernando Torres, while the strong display Gary Cahill produced in the away game against Schalke makes him an obvious choice to come in for David Luiz.

Option two – a bigger shake-up
Mourinho may be even more ruthless than above however, and could drop Oscar as well as Mata. That could open up a spot for Willian in the number 10 role, while Andre Schurrle would provide an injection of energy on the right, with the chance to impress against his compatriots. The one other obvious change would be Azpilicueta for Ivanovic, but Mourinho seems to prefer the Serb's defensive solidity to the Spaniard's attacking prowess.
