Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo has revealed that he rejected the chance to join David Moyes' Everton side last year, reports Goal.com.

The Spaniard, who has been in sensational form for the Citizens in this campaign, was linked with a move to Goodison Park in January 2013, however Negredo opted to stay at Sevilla for the rest of the season.

'The Beast' completed his move to the Premier League this past summer and has already struck 18 goals in all competitions for Manchester City in this campaign.

Speaking to reporters about his potential switch to Everton last summer, Negredo said: "There were some rumours about a move to Everton but I just wanted to finish the season with Sevilla.

"I wanted to wait until it got to the summer before I started looking at other options. I never really considered the possibility of moving in January."

Manchester City will certainly be relieved Negredo turned down the now Manchester United manager David Moyes whilst he was in charge at Everton.

As Manchester City prepare to take on Newcastle United this weekend, Negredo will once again be hoping for a starting role and will look to continue his fine form for the club after scoring a hat-trick in the Capital One Cup semi-final against West Ham in midweek.
