Liverpool could be ready to send Daniel Agger to former boss Rafa Benitez at Napoli if Gokhan Inler is thrown in as part of the deal.
Inler, 29, has been a regular under Benitez this season, but Naples journal, Il Roma, have indicated the Napoli boss would be prepared to surrender the Swiss midfielder if it meant bagging Agger.
Brendan Rodgers has previously been against selling his vice-captain, but following the injury to midfield anchorman Lucas Leiva, the Reds’ boss could soften his stance on the out-of-favour Agger in order to bulk up his midfield options with Inler.
