Salah's arrival at Stamford Bridge was confirmed on Sunday, but he has not yet linked up with Jose Mourinho's side in London.
Mourinho has an almost full-strength squad to choose from though, with striker Fernando Torres (knee) and midfielder Marco van Ginkel (knee) the only injury absentees.
Demba Ba could be given a rare start up front in place of Samuel Eto'o, against the Hammers.
