PSG Offer Liverpool £35m Plus Their Pick Of Four Players For Star Striker Luis Suarez
Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain are prepared to offer Liverpool a huge offer of £35m plus their choice of one of four player to bring their star striker Luis Suarez to the club either during the January transfer window or at the end of the season.
CaughtOffside understands that the side from the French capital are keen on making a more significant assault on the Champions League, a competition that Suarez would be able to participate in this term as the Anfield side have not featured in the tournament this season.
PSG already have Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani at their disposal, but have been keeping a keen eye on the controversial Uruguayan hit man for some time now and are finally willing to put their money where their mouth is and will look to sweeten the deal by offering Brendan Rodgers the choice of taking one of four players in return to compensate for the loss of their star player.
The defending Ligue 1 champions are willing to offer Liverpool £35m and will throw either Ezequiel Lavezzi, Javier Pastore, Jeremy Menez or Adrien Rabiot into the mix to help tempt the club into parting with him.
The Reds had previously been linked with moves for Menez and Pastore but PSG have consistently sought to warn the club off making an official approach, but will now eagerly offer one of them to help soften the blow.
Ezequiel Lavezzi had also been a target for Tottenham Hotspur at various points of the season, but he may provide a very viable option for the Reds as he would be able to fill in for Suarez in a more immediate capacity, and as he has hopes of making it into the Argentina squad for this summer’s World Cup he may view a move to Liverpool as an ideal solution to his problem.
However, the Reds are still reluctant to let Suarez go and may not be so keen on the idea of selling him halfway through the campaign with the Premier League crown still to play for.
Suarez had courted a move away at the beginning of the season but decided to stay put for the time being, but has still made it know that he is looking to play Champions League football at some point in the near future.
