Inter Milan have ruled out the January sale of midfielder Fredy Gaurin, after reported interest from Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United,

Guarin had been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in recent weeks, with reports suggesting Inter officials had flown to London for talks.

The Colombian international had also been monitored by both Tottenham and Manchester United since the summer.

Inter have confirmed there were discussions with the Blues over his availability, but the Serie A side have no decided to keep Gaurin at the San Siro.

“Guarin is an Inter player and we are happy to keep him,” Inter’s sporting director Piero Ausilio said.
“Denying the contacts with Chelsea would be denying the evidence. It is a source of pride to talk with them about one of our players, but everything stopped there.

“We are happy Guarin could stay with us for a long time. We don’t have the intention to sell him. He’s an important player.”

Gaurin himself went on to admit there had been discussions with Chelsea over a possible move, but that he was happy to stay with Inter.

“I haven’t spoken to Mourinho. My agent has done that,” Guarin said.
“I hope that Inter are thinking about how much I really want to stay here.
“There is something going on, I can definitely not deny that.
“But now I focus only on Inter and to do well here, we’ll see in the future.”
