La Liga leaders Barcelona visit Athletic Bilbao on Sunday as they look to bounce back from their first defeat under Gerardo Martino.

Barca lost 2-1 to Ajax in the Champions League on Tuesday, having already qualified for the knockout stages.  "It had nothing to do with a lack of attitude," midfielder Cesc Fabregas said.

"We were running hard, but not running right.  "If we were going to have to lose a game, that was a good time to do it."  The former Arsenal player added:

"We have to demonstrate our ability to win matches and our mental capacity to react to defeats.  "We are a competitive team, and we know that these things can happen, but what happens next depends entirely on us."  As planned, forward Lionel Messi has gone to Argentina as part of his recovery from a hamstring injury which the club say is going to plan.

Athletic, who are fifth going into the weekend's games, are unbeaten at home since moving to their new San Mames stadium in the summer.
