Roma will rival Everton for the signature of Dutch defender Bruno Martins Indi, according to reports in Italy.
The Toffees were close to landing him in the summer, but they could not reach a deal with Feyenoord.
Ronald Koeman, the Feyenoord boss, last month admitted that he may have to cash in on the 21-year-old - and that could spark a bidding war between Everton and Roma in January.
Martins Indi, who can play at left-back and centre-back, is fully established within the senior Holland set-up and is expected to feature at next summer's World Cup.
Capped 12 times, he also represented his country during the European Under-21 Championship in Israel last summer as they reached the semi-final stage.
