Inter Milan are planning to exploit Manchester United’s interest in midfielder Fredy Guarin by pursuing a January move for Javier Hernandez.

Inter have been made aware of United’s interest in Guarin, however, and the Italian club are hopeful of using the 27-year-old as a bargaining tool to persuade Moyes to sell Hernandez.

The Mexican forward has started just three Premier League games for United this season and, in total, made just 13 appearances in all competitions, scoring four times.

Speculation that Chicharito is set to bail on Old Trafford has been rife for several months now, and the Mexican international fanned the flames of his transfer speculation when he retweeted a Sky Sports story about him potentially leaving Manchester United back in November.

27-year-old Fredy Guarin, who joined Inter from Porto in May 2012 when his loan spell became permanent at a cost of £9m, is a box-to-box midfielder who is now valued at £10-15 million, and the Colombian is also rumoured to be attracting interest from Tottenham.

According to Calcionews24, Inter directors Marco Branca, Piero Ausilio and Guarin’s agent Marcelo Ferreyra were in London on Thursday for meeting with representatives from Manchester United and Tottenham.

Inter are said to be willing to Guarin head to the Premier League in order to boost the Nerazzurri’s transfer kitty so that Inter can buy new players in January.

Crucially, Guarin is available to play in European competitions as Inter did not take part in the Champions or Europa League this season.
