Arsenal are said to be lining up a move for Fiorentina’s Italian international striker Giuseppe Rossi when the transfer window re-opens in January, according to Sports Direct News.

The in-form former Manchester United youth product has endured an injury hit few seasons at Villarreal in Spain and at Fiorentina, but he has began to display the kind of form that he showed at El Madrigal during the 2010-11 season that saw him attract attention from the likes of Barcelona.

With 14 goals in 18 appearances so far, he is now being tipped to make a return to the Premier League with Arsenal emerging as favourites to land his signature.

Rossi came through the youth academy at United but also spent some time at Newcastle before making the move over to Spain back in 2007.

With the Gunners looking to add to their striking options to relieve the burden from Olivier Giroud, they will be looking to bring a top quality striker on board such as Rossi so as to not lose the good momentum they have built up already this term.

The only stumbling block may be the player’s injury record, but he would be a worthy gamble if he continues to score.
