The Gunners missed out on the golden opportunity to go on top of the league as they failed to defeat David Moyes’s Manchester United side and capitalize on the dropped points by Chelsea.

Arsenal and Manchester United played out a game with few chances as none of the team managed to bother the scoreline as the game ended 0-0 meaning the hosts missed their chance to go on top of the premier league.

Arsenal came into the game knowing a point here would take them above the league leaders Chelsea who only managed a draw against West Brom in their fixture.

The visitors however could have had the dream start as Robin Van Persie spurned a great chance to give United the lead. The former Arsenal captain dispossessed Mikel Arteta but fired his effort straight to the hands of Szczesny.

On the other end , Patrice Evra had to make a last ditch tackle to deny Jack Wilshere while Olivier Giroud spurned a brilliant opportunity as he headed wide following a corner.

Robin Van Persie then scuffed his horrifically wide on 18th minute when he got on the end of a brilliant through ball from Juan Mata as linesman’s flag stayed down.

Six Minutes later , it was yet another frustrating finish from Olivier Giroud as the Frenchmen again headed wide after getting on the end of another corner.

Arsenal had the best chance of the game after an hour mark and were inches away from getting their noses infront when Laurent Koscielny’s powerful header was cleared off the line by Antonio Valencia , his most meaningful contribution on the night.

Olivier Giroud then came inches away from nudging in Bacary Sagna’s brilliant delivery as the Frenchman failed to get any sort of touch to the cross from his team mate.

Robin Van Persie was then denied by an excellent reflex save from Wojciech Szczesny as the Polish international palmed away the Dutchman’s effort to keep the game scoreless.

David De Gea was on a inspired form as he reacted brilliantly to save Santi Cazorla’s effort after the Spaniard linked up brilliantly with Mesut Ozil before firing an effort that was barely tipped away by De Gea.

However both side failed to produce the final moment of magic in the game with few chances as the game finished 0-0 which makes it 5 games with just one win for Manchester United.
